Sign Pro opened in 1995 to produce banners and vinyl signs, serving as a "partner business" to a group of radio stations and creating additional revenue streams for the group's parent company.
Twelve years later, Sign Pro makes its second appearance among the list of fastest-growing small businesses in the Brazos Valley.
Owners Jan and Dave Stott initially held a minority share of the business, but became its sole owners in 1998. Newly retired at the time with more than 50 years combined professional experience between them, the couple focused on quality products, rapid response, and a reasonable pricing structure.
"We understand that our customers don't exist for us, we exist for them," says Jan Stott. "Our job is not done until our customer is 100% satisfied."
The Stotts expanded services to include vehicle graphics, large format digital printing, vehicle wraps and, most recently, a heavy emphasis on large electrical signs they manufacture themselves. The addition of a master electrician and a journeyman electrician has set the course of their business to double within the next couple of years.
"If you want to grow, you constantly have to reinvest in the business," says Jan Stott. "You have to be open to new ideas and change."
